Roxanne Pallett has returned to work following her year out from the public eye.

The ex-Emmerdale actress, who has been out of a job since Celebrity Big Brother punch-gate last year, was seen attending the Music for Your Mind charity event in Manchester.

The 36-year-old was publicly castigated after she accused former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas of assaulting her in the CBB house, which were then shown to be untrue.

However, a year later and the former soap star booked herself a slot at the charity event speaking about her battle with depression and PTSD following the incident, as she attempts to relaunch her career.

Roxanne shared the news on her Instagram page ahead of the gig: “I’ll be speaking at the the Music For Your Mind event to help artists raise awareness and funds for mental health art therapy workshops.

“Although I’m extremely nervous, I know that sharing our stories, experiences, fears, flaws and recoveries are what can help the next person feel less alone.”

Alongside the news Roxanne shared a quote by Brene Brown: “If you have a rock in your shoe, you don’t keep walking. You stop pull over, and deal with it.

“But we don’t often do that with out emotions,” it read.

Roxanne showed off a casual glamorous as she was seen arriving at Jimmy’s Bar in the city wearing a leather pencil skirt and casual top, along with a pair of nude heels and a cross body bag.

She had been subjected to intense trolling since the CBB incident and had left social media for many months as she withdrew from the public spotlight.

She also lost her radio hosting gig and was cut from a scheduled panto performance.

Back in March she was seen frolicking on a beach in Greece as she attempted to move on from the incident.

In a recent Instagram post Roxanne explained that when she was 16 her family home went up in flames.

“It was traumatic to be trapped inside a burning house. Losing our home & all our belongings was one thing, but months later, cancer took my grandma who had raised me. It broke me. I didn’t have counselling,” she wrote.

She revealed how she found it difficult to cope with the grief and attempted to take her own life, before she ended up in an abusive relationship.

Without acknowledging the CBB incident Roxanne went on to explain how she had lost her best friend to suicide, before she finally was diagnosed with a panic disorder.

The outpouring of hatred towards Roxanne after CBB had left her seeking therapy as she looked to get treatment the anxiety and panic disorder that had taken over her life.

Roxanne had only appeared on television once since the dramatic days in CBB, with a place on Celebrity Coach Trip, which had been filmed before her stint.

The reaction to her being in the E4 show was enough to show that fans of the Corrie star had still not forgiven her for the punch-gate incident in Celebrity Big Brother .
