On Monday, Michael vowed to ‘look like a better version’ of himself after years of eating junk food and being the subject of endless ‘fat jokes’.

He told listeners of his radio show, Fitzy & Wippa: ‘I’m going to be undertaking the Men’s Health 12-week transformation program.’

Wippa’s co-host, Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, replied: ‘Lincoln Lewis just did it, his six pack in unbelievable, Rodger Corser has done it, we’ve had Osher Günsberg, we’ve had James Stewart, and Guy Sebastian was amazing.’

‘I’ve had nine years of fat jokes!’ Michael is the latest celebrity to embark on a 12-week body transformation with Men’s Health magazine

Wippa added: ‘Osher’s transformation is phenomenal. Like, that guy has spoken about his weight challenges over the years and the photos that appeared in the after shots… he was ripped!’

Men’s Health Editor Scott Henderson explained on air that the body transformation challenge would yield both physical and mental benefits for Wippa.

‘Yes, I think the six packs look great, but behind these stories – especially, I think, in Osher’s case and in Lincoln’s case – there’s a really great mental journey,’ he said.

‘You know, they’re great stories. And the physical transformations are incredible but there is always this story that comes through and the guys kind of grow.’

Wippa explained that food is ‘a big part of his life’, but he is determined to transform his body by following a healthier diet.

‘I’m going to look like a better version of myself’: Wippa officially started the challenge on Monday and woke up at 3am to meet celebrity trainer Jono Castano

‘I’ve [had] nine years of fat jokes and maybe, after this transformation, we’ll finally knock it on the head and farewell the fat jokes,’ he said.

Wippa revealed he had officially started the first day of his challenge on Monday and woke up at 3am to meet celebrity trainer Jono Castano.

‘I’ve signed on and I’m into it and I’m going to look like a better version of myself in no time,’ he said.
