The Eternal City has always held a certain allure for the rich, beautiful and famous, with many of its attractions forever immortalised in pop culture history. This weekend, all eyes will be on Rome as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – one of the biggest celebrity couples of our time – make their way to Rome as wedding guests of fashion designer Misha Nonoo, a close personal friend and collaborator of the Duchess.

The ceremony is rumoured to be taking place at Cinecittà, an immense film studio in Rome where more than 3,000 films have been made, winning it the nickname ‘Hollywood on the Tiber’. For years, Rome was where you could casually run into the likes of Audrey Hepburn (pictured above in Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck) and Sofia Loren in their most relaxed state: smoking in bars, tucking in at trattorias, and observing the passeggiata from streetside cafés.
