And James Haskell, 34, has now confessed that he’s ‘wasting away’ due to the limited food for him to consume on I’m A Celebrity. 

Speaking on Extra Camp on Wednesday night, the rugby star confessed: ‘I never thought I would look at a menu and chose crocodile feet. We’re still only getting 700 calories per day.

Detailing his plight, James continued: ‘We’re slowly wasting away, but wasting away with dignity!’ 

The sports star went on to detail the campmates’ battle with the jungle diet further, claiming: ‘We’re literally scraping the barrel of discovering different ways of cooking rice and beans and trying to add some flavour.  

James also touched upon his surprising new friendships, admitting that he was surprising at his bond with Andrew Maxwell and Nadine Coyle.   

‘Ian Wright is the person I’m closest too but he’s in the sporting world. Nadine’s a pop star and Andrew is a comedian, so I don’t really cross paths with them. They are are both so lovely!,’ he gushed.

He revealed: ‘For some people it can be a challenge, but I just use the mindset of focusing on what’s happening next. I smell, I need to wash, the dishes are dirty, someone needs water, I’m just keeping it simple.’  

His interview comes after James’ wife Chloe Madeley, 32, admitted she didn’t know how her other half James Haskell would survive with the restricted diet of creepy crawlies on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Phoning in to Extra Camp following the premiere episode on Sunday night, the exercise guru also joked that she would be ‘saving a lot of money on the food bill’ as the rugby player consumes a daily average of 4,000 calories.

Her confessions comes after James revealed he plans to resort to desperate measures to curb his sexual frustrations in the jungle.

When asked how he’ll cope without nookie for up to three weeks, the rugby ace responded to The Sun before entering the jungle on Sunday: ‘I think I’ll be able to stay calm.

‘When you’re on 700 calories and everything smells of smoke, I’ll be fine. I’ll just throw myself in the creek.’

The star went on to say how ‘bizarre’ it would be to not have her around and he’ll ‘miss her a lot’ as they speak ‘every day.’
