In a run-down neighborhood, Frank Castle wakes up and gets out of his van to finish his laundry. On his way to a coin laundromat, he stops a street gang and encounters three prostitutes, and the leader of the gang, Goldtooth, takes one of them to a remote alley and rapes her. Despite hearing her screams in the distance, Frank minded his own business and put the laundry in the washing machine.

A few minutes later, a boy named DeShawn is walking through the neighborhood and is being harassed by a gang, when Goldtooth offers him a chance to sell drugs. When DeShawn refused, the gang members began robbing him. After a brief verbal altercation with Goldtooth, Frank goes to the liquor store across the street to get a bottle of Yoo-Hoo. There, Big Mike, a disabled store clerk, says he witnessed a similar situation two years ago and was crippled by dealing with criminals.
Frank pays for Yoo-hoo and also buys a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, which he uses to kill some of the gang, killing others with their own guns and knives. After killing the thugs, Goldtooth breaks his right arm and both legs before asking him if he knows the difference between justice and punishment while dousing him with whiskey. He takes out the lighter and places it on the floor before returning to the laundry room.
The battered prostitute returns to the scene to grab a lighter and set the gang leader on fire as Frank returns to his laundry van. DeShawn approaches him to retrieve the shirt he dropped, but Frank tells him to keep it. As Frank drives, the boy unbuttons his shirt to reveal the Punisher’s symbol.

The film was the first medium to reveal the new Punisher logo designed by Tim Bradstreet. Thomas Jane introduced the film at the RAW Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con International in 2012. Explaining the reason for this project, he posted this quote on YouTube:
Evan Kander of Shortoftheweek.com called the film a “love letter” to the Punisher character and a success. He also stated, “The film proves that fan films aren’t just for geeks walking around with their home video cameras.” He criticized the film’s thin plot and predictable outcome for the villain, but praised the production value.
Kyle Anderson of The Nerdist called the film unwatchable and stated that Jane would have to reprise her role as the Punisher if another movie was made.

In an interview with Viloma, Adi Shankar revealed that he was previously in pre-production on a sequel to Dirty Laundry, stating that the film will be a two-hander featuring “Lady Punisher”. Written by MMA fighter and Deadpool actor Gina Carano. Thomas Jane is set to reprise his role in the sequel, with the script being written by Wayne Kramer. Shankar stated in an interview (regarding the film), “Maybe it will be revisited and restored at some point, and that shouldn’t be ruled out yet.”
The film was nominated for a Webby Award in the Online Film & Video, Drama: Long Form or Series category and was included in Collider’s Top 5 Surprises of 2012.
