There are many places to eat lunch and dinner around Manhattan, but for psychology and criminology senior Skyler Stern, the place to go is the Celtic Star.
The Keltic Star opened in January 2013 with the goal of bringing an “authentic British pub experience” to Manhattan.

I think it’s only natural to start with the best coffee shop in town. Arrow Coffee Co. In the corner inside you will find their private cocktail lounge. Arrow Cocktail Lounge is known for its large selection of old fashioned cocktails. So whether you’re in the mood for an iced mocha or a negroni, Arrow is your place.
Bourbon & Baker is a unique restaurant specializing in Southern-style, elevated small plates. Yes, bourbon! With more than 70 different types of bourbon, you’re sure to find one that will fulfill your bourbon dreams. I think it’s safe to say that chicken and waffles has been mastered here. I can’t decide which component of the dish is the star: the cinnamon-nutmeg waffles, the moist fried chicken, the maple-pecan butter, or the maple syrup hot sauce made from scratch. Anyway, I could eat this dish every day. And let’s not forget to mention the bakery part of Bourbon & Baker! On the other side of the restaurant is their bakery, which sells delicious freshly made cakes, brownies, cookies, and bourbon frosted cinnamon rolls. Need I say more?
The specialty tiki-themed cocktail bar is perfect for when you want to escape the college scene and try something more adventurous than vodka cranberry (no pun intended, but come on, it’s time to expand that palette). Located in midtown Manhattan, this venue will take you to the beachside pool party we’ve had all week. Each cocktail is made from scratch with syrup and seasonal ingredients. Like a watermelon mojito with watermelon jam, local mint and fresh squeezed lime juice! And of course, they offer a unique version of their bar food like vegan hotdogs, soft homemade pretzels, and nachos!

Enjoy drinks in the city center during the summer. Coco Bolos is known for their slogan “Spicy Music and Sizzling Food”, which lets people know that they serve up some unique flavors. Located in Aggieville, Coco Bolos has been a local favorite since its opening. Their Bluemont Biscuits and Gravy is my pick from the brunch menu, but throughout their entire menu, we’ve found the “Bolos!” There is a bold flavor that we all love when it comes to merchandise. El Patron because who doesn’t love Mexican food and brunch??? My husband and I love breakfast burritos! Open daily at 11am, check out their menu on their website and see what takes your fancy!
